An English steel concertina corkscrew marketed as “The Pullezi” and manufactured by James Heeley & Son. The articulated arms, ring handle, bottle-neck collar and wire helix form a compound-lever mechanism. With the worm inserted into the cork and the collar resting on the bottle mouth, extension of the linked arms draws the cork upwards. Associated with Marshall Arthur Wier’s 1884 patent, the Pullezi belongs to the late Victorian development of mechanically assisted corkscrews.

The steel retains areas of a bronze-coloured surface finish, with extensive losses, oxidation and wear. Both “THE PULLEZI” and “HEELEY’S ORIGINAL PATENT” remain visible. The photographed assembly includes the ring handle, linked arms, collar and worm; joint play, worm sharpness and performance under load have not been verified.
