Lesser’s Folding shoes corkscrew “REGISTERED / GERMANY” engraving shows this corkscrew was made for export and that its design was legally registered or patented, wording typical of late-19th-century German manufacture before DRGM markings became standard.

The presence of original nickel plating with natural wear further supports a circa 1895–1900 date, as nickel plating was commonly used on better-quality German tools of that period.
