Exceptional prestige bracelet from the Lobi/Tusyan peoples, Upper Volta Basin Burkina  Faso. Late 19th to early 20th century.

Cast in Bronze alloy using the lost wax method in the Upper Volta Basin of South Western Burkina Faso. This powerful cuff was worn by elders, warriors and lineage heads as a symbol of protection, authority and social rank within the community.
