Patented in Paris on 24 October 1887 by Jacques Pérille, the Diamant corkscrew takes its name from the distinctive diamond shaped travelling flange on the shank a defining feature of this ingenious mechanical design.
Stamped DIAMANT JP PARIS, this example represents early production, dating to the late 1880s, when Pérille’s invention set a new standard for precision and durability in French corkscrew engineering.
