This compact German gentleman's pocket knife belongs to the decorative Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) tradition produced during the early twentieth century. Constructed with cast aluminium handles enclosing two folding steel blades and a steel corkscrew, it combines everyday utility with finely sculpted decorative panels. One side depicts an elegant female figure beside a bicycle, while the reverse illustrates scenes of contemporary life including cyclists, figures and architectural motifs. The blade is stamped "Gesetzlich geschützt", indicating the design was legally protected under German registration.

The knife remains complete with both blades and corkscrew intact. Age-related wear, light surface oxidation to the steel components and an attractive natural patina are consistent with more than a century of careful preservation. Decorative relief remains crisp and well defined, and the mechanism functions as intended with firm opening action. An appealing example of early twentieth-century German decorative pocket cutlery from the Solingen manufacturing tradition.
