Unmarked mechanical corkscrew of the lazy-tongs or concertina family, constructed with a series of riveted articulated steel links. The mechanism expands and contracts in scissor fashion, providing mechanical leverage during cork extraction. The circular bottle collar centres the worm over the bottle neck, while the extended linkage provides the pulling action. Lazy-tongs corkscrews form a distinctive branch of late 19th- and early 20th-century mechanical corkscrew development.

The corkscrew retains an aged metal surface with expected wear, oxidation and traces of its original finish consistent with age and use. The articulated links, riveted joints, cast finger grip, bottle collar and worm appear complete. The mechanism extends and collapses correctly; the worm shows age-related wear but remains substantially intact. Offered as a functional collector's corkscrew, with careful use appropriate to its age.
