A finely cast copper-brass prestige anklet attributed to the Gurunsi (Frafra) cultural sphere of northern Ghana. Prestige ornaments of this type served as personal adornment and visible indicators of status, reflecting the highly developed metalworking traditions of West Africa. The elegant oval form is enhanced by opposing spiral motifs and flattened disc terminals, creating a balanced and restrained design characteristic of individually cast ornaments.

The anklet was produced as a single piece using the traditional lost-wax casting process, whereby the original wax model is destroyed during casting, ensuring each example is unique. The surface displays an attractive naturally aged patina together with minor wear and casting irregularities consistent with traditional manufacture, age and historical use. Well-preserved examples with documented provenance remain sought after by collectors of African art and ethnographic material.
