A French wooden novelty corkscrew modelled as a crouching frog, with contrasting inset eyes, an open mouth and incised details defining the feet. The curved section forming the hindquarters detaches to reveal a metal corkscrew worm, which is housed within the body when assembled. The underside is marked MADE IN FRANCE. Its concealed construction places it within the collecting category of figural corkscrews.

The wooden components are carved and shaped, with a dark reddish-brown finish and visible grain. Scratches, abrasions and finish wear are present, particularly underneath; the metal worm shows tarnishing and local oxidation. Probably dating to the mid-20th century, the example retains both inset eyes and its removable corkscrew section. The manufacturer, wood species and precise production date remain unidentified.
