Noyes “Universal” Folding Lever Corkscrew, Steel, USA, Early 20th Century — Green River Whiskey
Pickup currently not available
American Noyes “Universal” folding pocket corkscrew with Green River Whiskey advertising, belonging to the pump-lever family associated with Harry W. Noyes’s patents of 1905 and 1906. A formed steel loop handle carries a pivoted helical screw and hinged fulcrum plate. With the screw engaged in the cork and the plate bearing against the bottle rim, downward pressure on the handle raises the cork.
The design combines pocket portability with assisted extraction, reflecting early 20th-century developments in compact combination opening tools.
The advertising plate reads “GREEN RIVER — THE WHISKEY WITHOUT A HEADACHE,” associated with J. W. McCulloch of Owensboro, Kentucky.
