Sculptural ceremonial object from the Akan culture of Ghana with chieftaincy and ancestral authority.

Carved from a single solid block of hardwood. The elevated architectural base and pierced central panel indicate a ritual or shrine-related function, rather than everyday seating. The deeply curved saddle-shaped top derives from the sacred Akan stool tradition, symbolising lineage, status, and spiritual power. Rich natural patina from age and long-term indoor preservation.
