This Italian double lever corkscrew belongs to the early mechanical lever family developed to improve cork extraction through articulated leverage rather than direct pull. Manufactured in aluminium and steel, it is marked "BREVETTI VOGLIOTTI TORINO" on both lever handles and follows the design patented by Placido Vogliotti under Italian Patent No. 412,560 (1910). The folding bottle collar and twin-lever arrangement represent an important stage in the evolution of early twentieth-century mechanical corkscrews. This variant is illustrated in The Ultimate Corkscrew Book (p. 88) and World-Class Corkscrews (p. 249).

This example retains its original finish with honest age-related wear consistent with use and age. The articulated joints remain sound, the worm is straight with a well-defined point, and the mechanism operates smoothly. Suitable for both display and careful practical use.
