This substantial cast brass bracelet belongs to the long tradition of West African personal adornment and prestige metalwork. The form combines decorative and monetary functions, reflecting a cultural practice in which brass and copper alloy ornaments could simultaneously signify status, wealth, and social identity. The robust open-ended design, flattened terminals, and finely engraved surface decoration are characteristic of bracelets and currency-related adornments produced across parts of present-day Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo, and neighbouring regions.

The bracelet was produced using the lost-wax casting process and subsequently finished with incised geometric ornament. The surface displays a mature patina and wear consistent with age and handling. Pieces of this type are increasingly collected for their sculptural qualities, traditional casting techniques, and association with historic African metalworking traditions.
