An antique Champagne Tap (also known as a champagne siphon or robinet à champagne) designed to dispense sparkling wine directly through the cork without fully removing it. The worm is screwed through the cork and the side valve regulates the flow through the curved spout — a serving accessory used in restaurants, cafés and private dining during the height of formal champagne service.

This example features a cast dragon-head spout and an integrated shut-off tap, housed in its fitted travel case. The construction and styling correspond with late 19th century continental bar service implements.

Circa: Late 19th – early 20th century (approx. 1880–1910)

Note that the Case is in a very poor condition.
