Figural parrot corkscrew of the Avillar mechanical family, combining a crown cap lifter (beak) with a folding worm housed in the body. The worm pivots out from the side and is used in a direct pull action without leverage assistance. This design follows the 1929 Avillar patent concept for a “bottle seal remover,” widely produced in the United States, often by Negbaur and related makers, and represents a hybrid opener combining cork extraction and cap removal in a single cast form.

Unmarked example in solid brass with darkened patina and surface wear consistent with age. The worm remains intact and serviceable, showing moderate wear at the tip. Pivot action is firm with minor play. Casting lines and base construction are typical of production models of the period. Structurally sound and usable.
